Delete your Specsy account

You can delete your account yourself in the app, or ask us to do it. Both routes delete exactly the same data. You can also delete individual things without closing your account.

Deleting some of your data (keeping your account)

An item card: swipe it away or open it and choose delete. Its photo and voice note are erased from storage at the same time. You get 5 seconds to undo.
A shopping list, a store or a reminder: delete it in the app the same way.
Your family: you can leave it, or remove another member if the family is yours.
A card you shared: open it and tap Revoke — the other person loses access.

Deleting your whole account, in the app

Open Specsy.
Go to Settings.
Tap "Delete account".
Confirm — we ask twice, so you can't wipe everything by accident.

Your account and data are removed straight away.

If you don't have the app to hand

Email us from the address your account is registered with and ask us to delete it. We will delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email once it's done: support@specsy.uk

What gets deleted

Your account: email address, name, user ID.
All your item cards: names, specifications, notes, categories.
Photos and voice notes — erased from storage.
Shopping lists, reminders, stores and routes.
Your family membership. If you own the family, it is either handed over to another member or dissolved.

What is kept, and why

Database backups are kept for up to 180 days and then deleted automatically. Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps a 30-day rollback of the database. Your data disappears from the live service immediately, but it clears from those copies within those windows.
Purchase records are held by Google Play, the App Store and RevenueCat for accounting and legal reasons, and are outside our control. Cancel a subscription in your Google Play or App Store account — deleting your Specsy account does not cancel it.

Nothing else is retained. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
